Little Rock Ducks Unlimited Sponsors said Thursday that it will honor former Arkansas Game & Fish Commission Commissioner Marion “Mack” McCollum with the sixth annual Jerry Jones Sportsman’s Award.
The award is given annually to those who have significantly contributed to the sport of duck hunting in Arkansas. Last year, the award went to George Dunklin. Other honorees include former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sheffield Nelson and U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor.
McCollum, of course, also owns Mack’s Prairie Wings, the giant, world-famous waterfowl hunting supplies retailer in Stuttgart. As a Life Sponsor of Ducks Unlimited, he’s also a major contributor to the organization and duck hunting in Arkansas.
He’ll receive the award at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Chenal Country Club. Jerry Jones, the Arkansas native and Dallas Cowboys owner for whom the award is named, is tentatively scheduled to attend and present the award. Huckabee, the second recipient of the award, is also tentatively scheduled to attend.
The banquet includes a live and silent auction and is open to the public and to Ducks Unlimited Sponsors.
