Long gone are the days of throwing on the long johns and uninsulated rubber waders to go chase ducks. Advanced technologies abound when it comes to gear and Sitka is at the forefront. Today, they announced their new Ambient Collection that is billed as the brand’s most advanced insulation gear. Designed for the hunter and even non-hunting outdoor enthusiasts, the Ambient Collection uses best in class technologies to allow the outwear to adapt to changing weather conditions.

“These active insulation products adapt to changing conditions allowing for more efficient layering,” said John Barlow, SITKA’s Big Game Product Manager. “The Ambient Collection transitions seamlessly from outerwear when active to a mid-layer as activity slows and temperatures drop.”

The three available pieces (Men’s Hoody, Men’s Jacket and Women’s Jacket) are constructed with post-consumer recycled PrimaLoft® Evolve insulation, 20-denier ripstop nylon fabric for durability, a DWR finish for enhanced weather protection, and mechanical stretch to provide comfort and a full range of motion. The insulation is designed to function like animal fur with fibers of different lengths and deniers to create natural highs and lows within the material.

This collection increases the performance of any Sitka clothing system providing unmatched versatility during active pursuits in cool and cold weather,” Barlow added.

Versatility and performance are key components of all the Sitka clothes and the Ambient Collection is no exception. Each item is available in GORE OPTIFADE Subalpine with other select GORE OPTIFADE Patterns and solid colors also in the mix. The tops are packable as well and can be worn under heavier garments during cold days afield or on its own on cool fall or spring days.
