Brent Birch, founder and editor of Greenhead: The Arkansas Duck Hunting Magazine, was inducted into Waterfowler Hall of Fame, an initiative of the nonprofit Museum of the Arkansas Grand Prairie, during a banquet held at the Little Rock Country Club on May 21.

In addition to his role at Greenhead, Birch is the publisher and author of “The Grand Prairie: A History of Duck Hunting’s Hallowed Ground,” and a host of the weekly Standard Sportsman podcast, where he and co-host Cason Short discuss current events in the waterfowling world. Birch is also the creator of the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation’s annual Duck Season Social.

Birch is a member of the AGFF’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Last year, he received the Arkansas Wildlife Federation’s Rex Hancock Conservation Advocate Award. He currently is director of marketing and a sales agent at Lile Real Estate, a firm specializing in connecting buyers with rural land properties.

“I’m deeply honored to be included among so many people who have shaped Arkansas’ rich waterfowling heritage,” said Birch. “Duck hunting in Arkansas is about far more than the hunt itself; it’s about conservation, tradition and the people who work to preserve this way of life for future generations. To be recognized by the Arkansas Waterfowler Hall of Fame is truly humbling.”

Also inducted this year were the late former Gov. Dale Bumpers, Frank Lyon Jr. and David Snowden and David Snowden Jr. Proceeds from the induction banquet benefitted the Museum of the Arkansas Grand Prairie in Stuttgart, where the Waterfowler Hall of Fame is housed.

“The Arkansas Waterfowler Hall of Fame allows us to honor the people whose passion, stewardship and commitment have shaped Arkansas into the nation’s premier waterfowling destination,” said Jim Ronquest, chairman of the banquet’s organizing committee. “This year’s inductees represent the very best of that tradition. Their contributions — whether in conservation, community leadership or the advancement of our waterfowl heritage — have left a lasting impact that will benefit generations to come. We’re proud to recognize their remarkable legacies.”
