Greenhead Editor Brent Birch is among the new members of the Arkansas Game & Fish Foundation’s board of directors.
The nonprofit, formed in 1982, is the fundraising auxiliary of the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission. The foundation seeks financial support for the commission’s properties, facilities and conservation education programs as well as wildlife habitat and land for game and fish management programs.
“I am very humbled and honored to join the Arkansas Game & Fish Foundation board,” Birch said. “The ability to serve as a steward and promoter of the amazing resources we have available in this state carries a lot of responsibility and I look forward to serving along side some true change-makers for Arkansas’ outdoors.”
Birch is the Executive Director of the Little Rock Technology Park. The economic development project sponsored by University of Arkansas-Little Rock, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and the City of Little Rock is set to open in early 2017.
Other new board members are: Larry Bowden, Dow Brantley, Fred Brown, Roy Burrell, Cody Crawford, Jeff Crow, Kenny Gunderman, Anne Marie Hastings, Rory Herndon, Gar Lile, Jay Moss, JD Neeley, Todd Ross and Scott Tabor.
Chuck Dicus, president of the foundation, said prospective members are nominated by an existing board member. After a review by the executive committee, nominees are sent to the entire board for approval. Members serve an initial term of three years and can be renewed up to four times for a total of 12 years.
