Arkansas Business and Greenhead: The Arkansas Duck Hunting Magazine together earned eight awards in the Alliance of Area Business Publishers’ 2025 Editorial Excellence Awards presented June 20.
Greenhead and Publisher Eric Olson, Editor Brent Birch and Art Director Dean Wheeler received the Gold award for Best Ancillary Publication in the medium-sized market for the eighth consecutive year. The contest’s judges noted the magazine’s compelling photography, engrossing design and engaging stories.
“Greenhead’s successful run is a testament to the talented individuals who pour their skills and expertise into the magazine, particularly Birch and Wheeler in recent years,” Olson says. “The Greenhead legacy continues to build.”
Greenhead previously won Bronze titles in its category in 2011 and 2013, Silver in 2016 and Gold in 2012.
The annual competition, judged by faculty at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, drew hundreds of entries from regional business publications across North America and Australia. Arkansas Business, Greenhead and its staff were recognized for editorial strength, reporting depth and thoughtful design.

Arkansas Business received Gold awards in the Best Daily Email (“Arkansas Business Morning Roundup” by Scott Carroll), Best Recurring Feature (“Outtakes” by Kyle Massey), Best Scoop (“Incoming Chief Justice’s Unauthorized Office Entry Prompts New Rules at Arkansas Supreme Court” by Mark Friedman and Hunter Field) and Journalist of the Year (Mark Friedman) categories, as well as Silver in the Best Coverage of Local Breaking News (“Little Rock Airport Director Injured in Shootout with Federal Agents” by Arkansas Business Staff), Best Beat Reporting – Tech and Innovation (Chloe McGehee) and General Excellence Best Newspaper categories.
