Some Arkansas farmers are getting a jump on this year’s corn harvest before the brutal weather of August sets in and insect damage risk is at its highest. Corn production in Arkansas has escalated by leaps and bounds the past few years and the ducks have taken to the new food source. In 2011, Arkansas harvest over 510,000 acres of corn which was a 34% increase over 2010.
