What’s your go-to duck hunting story? I enjoy sharing some of the once in a lifetime moments in the public woods — moments where the whole block of woods fill up with ducks, and they are swimming around your legs before daylight. I love it when the stars align on opening weekend, and you’re watching thousands of mallards pour into your hole against a full moon and leaves are still on the trees. There is nowhere else in the world I’d rather be.
What got you into duck hunting? I grew up a deer hunter. My best friend was a duck hunter, and he convinced me around our senior year in high school to go with him and wear his dad’s waders. Of course, they were three times too big, but it didn’t matter. We shot a few ducks that morning, and it forever changed my life.

What is your most unusual “must have” in the duck blind? If anyone knows me, they know I always carry a pack of peanut butter crackers.
Favorite meal after a hunt? My wife makes a mean breakfast casserole, but I’d say for sure a hot breakfast!
What’s your favorite memory of hunting with your children? I have two boys, and I was able to take my oldest (6 years old) on his first duck hunt this year. Also, my dad came, and it was his first hunt as well. What an incredible day!
Why do you duck hunt? I’m very passionate about our sport, and I want to see it sustain for many years to come. It has been a network for me to meet men and women across the world. I love being in nature and with God’s creation, and the fact that we can communicate with wild animals and make them respond the way we want excites me the most!
Which Arkansas executive calls ducks the best? Kelly Scobey is one of the best hand callers I’ve ever heard, much less watching him blow four Red Legs all tuned to different ducks!
What stage of the hunter are you? Method (The process of hunting becomes the focus. May still want to limit out but places a higher priority on how it’s accomplished.)
