Irish Setter VaprTrek™ Boots Do the Trick in South Dakota
Pheasant hunting in South Dakota spans various terrains as the rolling hills in this part of the world present copious opportunities for wild pheseants. Our trip just before this frigid cold snap led us through corn and milo fields, creek beds, small wetlands and wild grasses. Tricky footing lurks everywhere, especially in the dry conditions we encountered given the area had experienced no measurable rain since mid summer.
The creek beds and wetland that were wet this spring during duck production days were now parched and cracked. The uncut milo and corn fields were standing strong as we marched through those hoping to kick up our fair share of roosters. Then throw in the seemingly endless number of badger holes dotting the landscape. More than one of use took a wrong step into one of those but unfortunately no significant injuries.
Good footwear is crucial on any pheasant hunt given the possibility of walking six to seven miles a day pending how long you hunt. Ill fitting and/or non-supportive footwear can ruin a good pheasant hunt
For this trip, I sported a pair of the newly redesigned Irish Setter VaprTrek™ boots. Despite limited wear prior to heading north, I was remarkably surprised how comfortable they were. These tactical, athletic looking boots required little to no break in period. Our group navigated this prairie grasslands and small wetlands on day one and the boot was up to the challenge. Day two we hunted standing and cut agriculture fields and treelines that provided some tough walking and I came away impressed by the stablity and flexibility of the VaprTrek™.
The boots features a supportive 8" high top style lace up boot that produces zero rub on upper or lower ankle areas. VaprTreks™ are made from a full-grain leather with an Earth Field Camo pattern that truly blends in anywhere outdoors. Irish Setter's UltraDry™ Waterproofing System handled the rain and blowing snow we encountered.
But the key was the comfort experienced with intense, long days of walking. Any wingshooting event that requires a fair share of walking can be handled by the VaprTrek™ and I am certain the same could be said for those chasing whitetails and the like.
Any hunter in the market for a boot to handle a lot of walking on variable terrain should take a look at the VaprTrek™ from Irish Setter. For more information on the boot, visit IrishSetter.com or find them at your local retailer.
